To solve the equation using subsitution method,

Substitute, equation (2) in (1)

[tex]\begin{gathered} 3y+30+y=130 \\ 4y+30=130 \\ 4y=130-30 \\ 4y=100 \\ y=\frac{100}{4} \\ y=25 \end{gathered}[/tex]

put y =25 in equation (2)

[tex]\begin{gathered} x=3\cdot\: 25+30 \\ x=75+30 \\ x=105 \end{gathered}[/tex]
